And this Is a watercolour of Singapore by their elder daughter Madge in the 1950s. Madge was a commercial artist and an impeccable calligrapher, but by bad luck, the only bomb ever dropped on Salisbury during World War II, reportedly jettisoned by a Junkers 88 on its way back to Germany, fell on her studio and destroyed all the works it contained.

Several generations later, Artists descended from Fred and Rosie are still at work. if any of them see this site and would like to contribute the piece they are proudest of, with a link to any others, it will be a pleasure to upload them. In the meantime, here are drawings by Fred and Rosie’s great granddaughters, Julia and Maria. The cartoons further down that are signed Macla are also by Maria. The two sisters are lucky in that their mother Beatriz also paints, see the portrait of a cat below. The rest of this page is by their father. Perhaps his grandson, Jude, the babe in arms here, will end up wielding a pencil or a brush himself.
